Five letter words from clues

This is not a game. You play your daily five-letter puzzle somewhere else (Wordle-style apps). When you are stuck, use this page to list words that still fit your clues.

Start here (3 steps)
1. In your real puzzle, note which letters are green (right spot), yellow (in the word, wrong spot), and gray (ruled out).
2. Type green letters in the five boxes below (leave blanks empty). Put yellow letters in “must include”. Put gray letters in “exclude”.
3. Read the word list under the form — pick your next guess in the real game.

Green — correct spot

One letter per box, or leave blank if unknown.

Yellow — wrong spot (optional — skip if confused)

Advanced: only if you track which column a yellow letter came from. Most people use “must include” below instead.

How it works

Fill green boxes for letters you know are correct. Use the yellow row to record letters that appeared on a yellow tile in each column—they must still be in the answer, but not in that slot. The “must include” field adds any yellow letters when you are not tying them to a column.

Gray letters are normally banned from the answer. With duplicate handling on, a gray copy of a letter you already marked green or yellow means the word does not contain more of that letter than your clues require—matching how many daily games score repeated letters.
